Word from John Sammarco, Definitive PresidentIn 2007, U.S. enterprises will continue to increase their Information Technology spending. In doing so, they will place a high priority on managing risk and improving performance associated with Information Technology, Information Security, and Business Continuity. To achieve success, enterprises need two key capabilities. First, the domain knowledge and practical experience applying national and international frameworks and standards such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (COBiT), the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO), ISO 177199, etc. Second, they need the capability to plan, prioritize and optimize the allocation of performance and risk management resources; to know when investment is required, and when it is not. The latter necessitates managing performance and risk as a portfolio, and using proven processes for measures, metrics, and reporting.
